Make $$$ Taking Local Photos

Our only concern is that John Carroll claims that all you need is a digital camera and a computer to start working, but this may oversimplify the process of getting jobs (which may require some sort of photography portfolio, resume, references, etc). However, if you're interested in freelance photography, this may be a good way to get started. The e-book provides a list of over 100 national companies that you can contact for work, and the 8-week guarantee on the website specifically states: "If you are not receiving paying assignments in your local area by the end of that period, I will promptly refund your full purchase price." Therefore, we recommend this product because it's worth a shot, and may actually be a good way to make extra money.

Real Writing Jobs

We're on the fence about Real Writing Jobs, but have decided to give it a small recommendation, based mainly on how it operates in comparison to other paid job sites. One thing we don't like: On the second page of the site (after you enter your email) they feature a check and say "This was the first check I received after completing my first writing job." The only problem is that the check is from the company Survey Savvy (they faded out the word Survey), and Survey Savvy pays people to take surveys, NOT to write! Well, that aside there are things we do like about Real Writing Jobs. For one, it seems that they do deliver on what they promise, meaning your membership fee will give you a listing of freelance writing jobs. Yes, you can find the information elsewhere for free, but if you want a list to get you started it may be worth the money. There are also some complains about refunds, but it looks like most people got their money back when requested. Perhaps the biggest factor that weighs in to our recommendation is the company's C+ rating by the Better Business Bureau. While this doesn't sound impressive, consider that most other paid job sites are rated F - so in comparison C+ is pretty good. The company actually started in 2005, so it's not one of those sneaky companies that changes its name when it gets bad reviews. It also has responded to all 17 complaints, which is not typical of these types of companies/websites. Overall you could save your money and search for online writing jobs for free. But if you'd rather pay money to get a list of jobs, Real Writing Jobs is one of the better ones out there.

eCashOpinions.com

Despite a user-friendly interface and promises of easy earning opportunities, this is not a product that offers efficient ways to earn significant income. The surveys can become very time-consuming, and there is no guarantee you will be able to qualify and complete them to earn the payment. The initial cost is also expensive relative to other products, many of which are free.

Home Job Group

We do NOT recommend the Home Job Group. One huge reason is that the Better Business Bureau gives this business an F rating (search - Home Job Group and look at the result for the location in Cincinnati). Also, negative reviews include: very limited access in a basic membership, people being pestered to upgrade, people not finding work, dead-end job links, and trouble getting refunds. Anytime you are trying to make money and have to pay money upfront, you're taking a huge risk. Home Job Group is not worth it.

Home Job Stop

We do not feel comfortable recommending Home Job Stop at this time. The reason is that the Better Business Bureau gives the website an F rating, and is currently investigating advertising issues related to the site. Not much detail is given, but this coincides with many negative reviews that say there are scams in the database and "job opportunities" that try to get you to pay more money. In theory, the small lifetime membership fee of Home Job Stop is worth it if you can save time by having access to a legitimate listing of work-at-home jobs. However, at this point, we have questions about legitimacy and cannot give a whole-hearted recommendation. If you do choose to join Home Job Stop, be very careful with job opportunities that require an up-front payment before you can actually make money.

Paid Social Media Jobs

At this point, we cannot recommend Paid Social Media Jobs. There is absolutely no background information given about the person or company who is behind Paid Social Media Jobs (paidsocialmediajobs.com), which is a concern because when we buy we like to know who we are dealing with. The F rating by the Better Business Bureau is in part due to the fact that they don't have information about the business either - with the other reason being a complaint against the business which the business failed to respond to. There are very few independent ratings online to go by, but the vague description of the product makes it hard to know how many jobs are in the database and how much money these jobs pay. Further, the website says they pay you directly to your bank account - and it's scary to think about giving your bank account information to a company and service you know so little about. One last thing that only slightly impacted the review, but that which we found very weird - the PaidSocialMediaJobs.com Facebook page is virtually empty. There have been only 8 posts since they joined Facebook on May 10th, 2012 - and 6 out of 8 of the posts were from the same day in June 2012. For a business that promotes social media usage and social media jobs, this is quite odd. In general, if you're interested in social media positions, try free searches of online job databases before paying for Paid Social Media Jobs.

Real Translator Jobs

We do not recommend Real Translator Jobs. Like many of these 'work at home' sites, you should always question whether it is worth it to pay for a job (I mean, it should be the other way around, right?) And like many of these sites, typically you can find the information for free with a little internet searching of your own. Now these two things do not necessarily exclude all work at home offers - sometimes a few bucks is completely worth the opportunities provided. However, in the case of Real Translator Jobs, there are many negative reviews. People claim that they couldn't access the member's area, and those who did said the "job list" was actually just a list of companies that you have to pursue yourself (and some of the links don't even work). Others have complained about having refund issues, although many successfully got refunds eventually through the help of ClickBank and PayPal. The Better Business Bureau rating echos these concerns. It is rated F, mainly because of 4 complaints - three of which were unresolved by the company. There is definitely a demand for translators, but we recommend you look elsewhere rather than paying for Real Translator Jobs.

Surveys Paid

We do not recommend Surveys Paid for a number of reasons. First, if you go to individual survey companies you can already sign up for free (check out surveypolice.com for a list and ratings from survey members). Second, Surveys Paid grossly exaggerates the amount of money you can make on surveys. The website features a "How Much Can You Earn?" box - the default is set at $20 per survey, and the lowest amount you can select is $5. But the reality is that survey companies rarely pay more than $1 for a 10 minute survey, and sometimes much less. Taking surveys will never be your full time job, despite the claims of Surveys Paid. Our final reason for not recommending Surveys Paid is the negative reviews online. Most of them cite the same reasons we listed and some outright call it a scam. Whether it is a true scam or not is debatable, but regardless, we recommend that you avoid Surveys Paid.
